PCB is sooooo PCB!

A truer statement could not be said about Panama City Beach. I was never one to come here as a kid, as my family didn't really do the whole beach thing. That and when we did it was to Myrtle Beach or some beach near Orlando or something. I've always heard PCB referred to as the "Redneck Riviera", but never really been witness to all it's splendor. Well, now that I am finally here for the week, I can see why they call it that. Now, I don't mean to sound all snobby or took good for PCB, but there's a certain level of people that I have come to…

What happens in Vegas…

Last time I made a post with the same title, it ended up like this. Let's just say, that this time around it was a completely different experience. My friend Gene turned 40 this year and he wanted to do a big throw down in Vegas. I mean, what better place to celebrate getting old, than a city full of young people who have a complete and total disregard for what they do to their bodies! Jess and I were totally game for a weekend filled with crazy entertainment and no kiddos to wake us up in the morning or need a diaper changed or ask how to make a grilled…

Disney Cruise!

Oh where to begin? It all started like, back in November 2012 or something. Jess and I both decided that we wanted to take our family on a Disney Cruise! Yes, you read that right... a Disney Cruise! Well, to some it might not seem that extravagant, but to us it was an astronimical adventure. We did our research (minimaly) and within no time, the thing was booked. The actual cruise wouldn't happen until the first of June 2013, but with this sort of thing, you gotta plan in advance. (more…)

2011 – Let’s review

2011 started off like any other year, with a wicked ice storm that pretty much shut down the whole state of Georgia. We made the best of it and actually had a really great time. We wouldn't get that kind of ice/snow again for the rest of the year. I'm actually hoping that we get one again, only this time we'll have a lil' baby with us. February brought us Gracie. A Great Dane that would put us to the test. Neither one of us had ever owned such a beast. She was one of the sweetest and happy dogs ever, but damn was she a handful. After many…

On being a dad

Originally I had planned on writing a post about every day for our Disney vacation, but rather than draw it out, I'll just write a quick re-cap: It was more amazing and magical than I could ever imagine. One of the things that really hit me while at Disney was the fact that I had managed to take my family on a week long vacation to Disney (and surrounding theme parks). We all have a dream and visions of the future and what we would like to do with our lives. We also have visions of the past. Things we look back on that make us smile or cry or…

Summer Vacation: Day 3

Day 3 was the beach day, and the day Jess was looking forward to the most. She and Chase just can't get enough of the sun and water and all the things that come with the ocean. I love the smell of the air and the breeze and just the happiness that comes with being at the beach. Since we were so close to Cocoa Beach (only about an hour) we decided to make a day of it. The day got started with a quick lunch and some shopping for flip-flops for Chase. After that we headed on out to the Ron Jon Surf Shop. This place was huge and…

Summer Vacation: Day 2

Day 2 of our week long vacation began with me gatting up extra early to go check out some timeshare deal at the resort we are staying at. We, much to my surprise I had my days mixed up and the buffet and presentation wasn't actually until the next day (Sunday). Oh well, at least I was up and ready for Universal Studios! I got back to the room and woke the family up so we could start getting ready for our first full day of fun. Jess was smart enough to get some food to cook from Publix so I made bacon and eggs and toast! Such a money…

On our way to Disney!!!

Every year the family loads up the car and hits the road to some awesome location. Chase's birthday is next week so what better way to celebrate than a trip to the most magical place on earth. We've been planning this trip for quite some time and the day has finally come! This morning we got up "early" and headed out. First stop was to get some zombie bisuits* and snacks. I mean you can't have a road trip w/o proper snackage. So that's where we're at. We are on the road, I'm blogging from my new iPad, thanks to my amazing wife! Stay tuned for more updates, Update: We…

There will be peace by the river

This morning I woke up and needed some sunshine. Somehow SB and I both had an empty calendar this weekend, so we decided to float the flint. It's a 4 hour trip via canoe, and water was just perfect today. We played on the rocks, coasted through the very very small rapids, and took in the peace and quiet and beauty. After a VERY long week I really needed to get out of our house. We may need to start a whole new category on this blog called "sunscreen fail". My handsome husband is awfully red tonight. As for me, I'm brown, exhausted, and going to sleep like a baby…
