Le Spooky de la Towne

So Halloween has come and gone and oh what a great one it was. It’s always been my favorite “holiday” and this year was no exception.

For the past few years I’ve been collecting pieces from Spooky Town. With the sale of the house I couldn’t really put them out for display, but now that I’m in an apartment, I can put anything out I want. So when Oct rolled around it was time to load up the car with all my stuff from my parents house and decorate my house to the gills…Halloween style!

It certainly was nice to finally be able to decorate and put all this stuff out. I really felt at home once everything was out and lit up. I had almost forgotten how fun it was and how much I enjoyed this part of the season. So that was that, Spooky Town and all my other decorations went up and and the Sniper’s first Halloween was all set. We meant to get more pics of the house, but we have many, many, many more years to take care of that. For now, these pics will have to do.

Up next is Thanksgiving. I’m really looking forward to some family time with Jess and Chase. I can’t wait to have them around for decorating my grandmother’s fence (family tradition) and all the other festivities that come with the holiday season. Stay tuned, more to come.

🙂

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween SniperFans! And for us…it was our first! 🙂 We had Chase for the weekend, and we spent it in Dunwoody with some of SniperBen’s family. It was a rainy weekend, so we skipped on trick or treating and went to a festival at Dylan’s (SB’s nephew) school. My little vampire ran around and had a blast, and I got to meet SB’s brother and sister! After the games, we had a dinner at a place that SB and I went to a long time ago and had some fantastic bbq. After putting the little blood sucker to bed, we watched none other than…Halloween! We’ve made it to Halloween H20 and it was the perfect Halloween night movie! It was a fantastic first Halloween. I’m going to miss the Spookytown decor around the apartment (pics coming soon!)…but Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the way! Lots more firsts on the way for the snipers. 🙂

Loving October!

punkin1

punkinWe’ve had an awesome October. We flew through Halloween 1-6 with ease (except 3) and stayed super busy. This past weekend was, as usual, amazing. We didn’t do anything particularly blog-worthy, but that’s what made it epic. We got things done around the apartment, hung some pictures up, organized dvds, unloaded boxes, cooked great food, napped, smiled. 🙂 I What IS blog-worthy though, is I also met some more of SniperBen’s friends. They are all really great people who I hope to hang out with again soon. Kim and James are two of them and they hosted a really fun pumpkin carving party. Here are a few pics from that…stay tuned though! Halloween and trick or treating is right around the corner. 🙂

Our first weekend cabin trip

So I have to say that this past weekend was exactly as it should be. Well, there are a few things I would have changed, but for the most part it was every thing that I could have imagined that a 30th birthday weekend cabin trip could’ve been.

Another amazing weekend, in the bank

Pre Fun Bowl dinnerJess and I whipped out another amazing meal. There was never any chance that it wasn’t going to happen. I mean, it was full of all that love and stuff she was talking about. Now that the meal is settled, the table is clean, and the shame of wearing a UGA shirt after that game has sunk in, it’s time to head out to Fun Bowl. Chase and I have been cooped up in the house all day while Jess manned the couch with her epic napping skills. It’s time for some good ol’ family fun. We’ll take some pics and update after all is said and done.

A belly full of love…

As I’m sure you’ll see in the upcoming months…my guy is a fantastic cook. There will be pics of deliciousness and recipes you’ll want to check out. Example: this morning we had homemade biscuits with sausage gravy – yummo! (And I helped!)

What I’ve noticed recently, however, is that everything we create in the kitchen is CRAZY good. All we had for lunch today was a deli meat sandwich and some pasta salad. Nothing fancy…but it was the best sandwich and pasta salad evah. My theory behind this is corny at best, but I promise you there has to be some validity behind it.

Theory 1: When we cook together, a little dash of our love falls into our meals. Our flirting in the kitchen and sparks between our eyes find their way into the food and make it the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten. Think I’m crazy?? Don’t believe me? Cook something today with someone you are madly in love with. I promise you’ll end up with a belly full of love. <3
