Thanksgiving break – 2009: Sniper Style pt. 2 (Thanksgiving Day)

Rosevelt the turkey
Roosevelt, meet Turner

In true Turner style the morning got started with a big plate of food and a lot of scrambling around. After breakfast Jess and I started in on the turkey, gravy base, and more chopping of vegetables. You’d think that after like three days of preparing food, we’d have all this mess done. That wasn’t really the case. There always seemed to be more carrots, onions, celery, taters… oh wait. No potatoes to cut up those had already been taken care of and were in the fridge setting up. Oh, the taters! Let me describe the ways I love thee. Ok, I’m done.

Thanksgiving break – 2009: Sniper Style pt. 1

New Moon Queen
Maybe YOU should relax

It all started with a trip to Burger King for some New Moon paraphernalia. I got Jess’ place and we got ready and headed off for some sushi, time with friends, and a gaggle of tweens and/or begrudgingly happy boyfriends and husbands. The movie was ish at best. It was better than Twilight, but then again, Twilight was a pretty terrible movie. There were some decent fight scenes, a fast car or two, some sparkly “vampires”, enough emo looks to make a rainbow cry, and and then some credits. That pretty much sums up the movie, or at least what I recall of it. The night wasn’t a total wash however. On the way to Milner, Jess got word that one of her friends was looking to unload some UGA tix. We jumped at the chance, I stopped by the ATM, got some cash and in exchange, we got tickets to what would be our very first GA game!

What are YOU thankful for??

Loves!

SniperBen,

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so what better time to tell you how THANKful I am to have you in my life. Thank you for loving me. For buying me flowers. For making me breakfast in bed. For running with me (and always stopping when I need to stop even though you don’t need to). For saying “Good Morning Sunshine” every.single.morning. For paying attention to small details. For adjusting to life with a 7 year old. For your surprises. For ALWAYS asking how my day is and actually caring about the details of it. For still opening the car door for me. For taking me on dates. For planning things and being patient when I want to be spontaneous. For listening to me mention that I want to try a dark chocolate Reese cup and showing up with one the next time you walk out of a store. For making me laugh until I can’t breath. For never letting me go to bed angry. For singing in the car with me. For letting me love you, for making me happy, and for so much more. 🙂

I can’t wait to spend our first holidays together. <3

I love you,

SniperJess

Man Card??

So…SniperBen’s man card might be in jeopardy, but I’m dragging him with me to see New Moon in two weeks. I’m semi-obsessed with the books and I’m stoked about seeing this! SB is a doll, and says that anything that gets me THIS excited is something he has to see for himself. The fact that he wants to go see this with me/for me…makes me want to sink my teeth into that man. 😉

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween SniperFans! And for us…it was our first! 🙂 We had Chase for the weekend, and we spent it in Dunwoody with some of SniperBen’s family. It was a rainy weekend, so we skipped on trick or treating and went to a festival at Dylan’s (SB’s nephew) school. My little vampire ran around and had a blast, and I got to meet SB’s brother and sister! After the games, we had a dinner at a place that SB and I went to a long time ago and had some fantastic bbq. After putting the little blood sucker to bed, we watched none other than…Halloween! We’ve made it to Halloween H20 and it was the perfect Halloween night movie! It was a fantastic first Halloween. I’m going to miss the Spookytown decor around the apartment (pics coming soon!)…but Thanksgiving and Christmas are on the way! Lots more firsts on the way for the snipers. 🙂

Loving October!

punkin1

punkinWe’ve had an awesome October. We flew through Halloween 1-6 with ease (except 3) and stayed super busy. This past weekend was, as usual, amazing. We didn’t do anything particularly blog-worthy, but that’s what made it epic. We got things done around the apartment, hung some pictures up, organized dvds, unloaded boxes, cooked great food, napped, smiled. 🙂 I What IS blog-worthy though, is I also met some more of SniperBen’s friends. They are all really great people who I hope to hang out with again soon. Kim and James are two of them and they hosted a really fun pumpkin carving party. Here are a few pics from that…stay tuned though! Halloween and trick or treating is right around the corner. 🙂

Our first weekend cabin trip

So I have to say that this past weekend was exactly as it should be. Well, there are a few things I would have changed, but for the most part it was every thing that I could have imagined that a 30th birthday weekend cabin trip could’ve been.

Another amazing weekend, in the bank

Pre Fun Bowl dinnerJess and I whipped out another amazing meal. There was never any chance that it wasn’t going to happen. I mean, it was full of all that love and stuff she was talking about. Now that the meal is settled, the table is clean, and the shame of wearing a UGA shirt after that game has sunk in, it’s time to head out to Fun Bowl. Chase and I have been cooped up in the house all day while Jess manned the couch with her epic napping skills. It’s time for some good ol’ family fun. We’ll take some pics and update after all is said and done.
